The Grass Isn’t Always Greener

They say the grass is always greener on the other side. But let’s be real—if it looks greener, it’s probably been fertilized with a whole lot of bullshit.

We live in a world where social media is the stage and everyone’s life is a performance. Perfectly curated photos. Smiling families who never seem to argue. Spotless homes. Magical vacations. Every scroll screams look at me, I have it all together.

But let me tell you something—I see right through it. And maybe you do too.

Because behind every flawless post is the part they don’t show you. The fights, the tears, the stress, the chaos, the exhaustion. Those little cracks in the picture-perfect facade that get cropped out before the world sees.

Meanwhile, people like me—and probably a lot of you—are over here just trying to keep our heads above water. Drowning some days. Exhausted most days. And yet, still showing up. Still trying. Still moving forward even when life feels heavy.

Here’s the truth: life isn’t perfect. Not for me, not for you, not for the people with the shiniest Instagram feeds. We all have struggles. Some of us are just more honest about them than others.

I’ve always tried to keep it real, because when shit hits the fan, people are quick to say, “Omg, everything seemed so perfect looking at her Facebook.” Nah. I don’t want anyone looking at my life and being fooled by a filter. I’d rather you know the truth: it’s messy, it’s loud, it’s stressful—but it’s mine.

So the next time you’re scrolling and find yourself thinking you don’t measure up, stop and remember this: most of those perfect lives online? They’re not real. They’re polished, edited, and dressed up for show.

The grass isn’t greener. It’s just been filtered, staged, and yes—probably fertilized with a whole lot of crap.

Be real, not perfect. Because real lasts longer than fake ever will.

Unfiltered Chaos.
Unfiltered Chaos.
